Mission & Vision of Beyond the Bulletin
Our God is intentional; therefore, our worship should be intentional.
Beyond the Bulletin is a free two-week online course that addresses the need to educate and empower servant leaders in planning intentional worship that glorifies God and is relevant to their community.

Meet Heidi
Heidi is an experienced worship leader, music educator, and pianist with over two decades of service in church, academic, and public school settings. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Worship and Arts and Director of Campus Worship Activities at Ohio Christian University, where she teaches worship leadership and piano while overseeing chapel services and worship teams. She is also Music Ministry Program Director at Duquesne University, helping to establish a new program dedicated to equipping future ministry leaders.
Previously, she served for many years as Director of Worship and Arts at North Hills Community Baptist Church, coordinating worship services, leading music teams, and supporting a wide range of creative and spiritual initiatives. Her experience also includes teaching elementary general music in diverse public school environments and serving as a sought-after piano accompanist for ensembles and studios throughout the Pittsburgh area.
She holds a Doctorate in Worship Studies from the Institute for Worship Studies, a Master’s in Music from the University of Connecticut, and a B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University. Heidi is also an ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches USA.

ABCOPAD
The American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware are part of the American Baptist Churches USA. Over 280 churches make up ABCOPAD. IWS
The Institute for Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida, is committed to global Christian worship renewal through the graduate education of servant leaders. IWS offers degrees in Master’s in Worship Studies and Doctorate in Worship Studies.

Educational Action Research
Participants have the opportunity to be part of an educational action research project. Data will be collected throughout in the forms of pre- and post-course surveys, online journal entries, and post-one-on-one virtual interviews. Confidentiality and anonymity are a priority. A consent form is part of the sign-up process that includes details. Participants that commit to being part of educational action research receive a a discount.

Asynchronous and Synchronous Learning Platforms
On Monday, August 18th, the first week of asynchronous materials will be released for you to complete. You can access these materials by logging into your account on the website. It will take approximately 30 minutes, not accounting for the time needed to complete the online journal entries that are part of the modules.
Saturday, August 23rd, 8:30-12:00 a.m. is the synchronous meet-up on Zoom. The Zoom link will be available through logging into your account on the website.

Saturday, August 30, 8:30-12:00 a.m. is the second synchronous meet-up on Zoom. Like before, the Zoom link will be available through logging into your account on the website.
The asynchronous and synchronous course will take approximately 10 hours of commitment. Details, including the course syllabus, will be emailed and listed in the course’s modules once you sign up.
